A youth exchange aimed at involving young people in European Citizenship

Commissioned by: European Commission
This project brought together six youth organisations from six European countries. Through participatory drama young people used fairy tales and how they reflect issues of youth to communicate what they thought was the main issues of concern for European youth today.


 

The youth workers gained skills in facilitation of youth participation and developed follow up projects with the young people in their own countries.

Commissioned by: Hat Fair, Winchester
This project used Participatory Arts for Development with local schools to develop children's natural curiosity and confront adults about what they thought was important. There were seven schools chosen and each school had a specific subject e.g. Politics, education, religion… The children developed skills in debating issues and becoming advocates for their peers. The project resulted in a performance parade down Winchester High Street with the local community encouraged to participate with the children.


Your Voice- 2005/2006

Commissioned by: Save the Children UK
Participatory Drama Project. Save the children worked in Partnership with a local organisation in Cornwall , who provided services for children in care. Staff were trained in Children's rights and youth participation through drama. The main issue focussed on was bullying.


Research project with Children of Aids, Tanzania 2005

Commissioned by: The Salvation Army, Tanzania
A research project looking into the wants and needs of children of Aids living in Tanzania . The Salvation Army developed a youth participation Policy with the young people they worked with.
